Courthouse square, 21c, restaurants, Ledger, the Momentary, and A Street
Downtown Bentonville
Downtown is the trip’s pressure valve: the place for coffee before Crystal Bridges, dinner after trails, a short walk from the room, and enough local texture to keep the weekend from becoming a shuttle between parking lots.
Morning coffee and square walk
Begin around the courthouse square for coffee, public art, shops, and the Walmart Museum area before walking or driving north toward Crystal Bridges.
The Momentary and south edge
South of the square, Ledger and the Momentary extend downtown along A Street with contemporary exhibitions, performances, food, and changing events.
Dinner without a drive
21c, The Hive, Preacher’s Son, Tusk & Trotter, Table Mesa, and Tavola cluster close enough for dinner without returning to the car.
Independent shops and patios
The blocks around the square suit a short independent walk between meals, hotel check-in, and museum reservations; verify individual shop hours on Sundays and holidays.

Three short downtown directions
North: Compton Gardens and trail connections lead toward Crystal Bridges. The museum is close on a map, but its galleries and grounds still require a separate block of time.
Around the square: 21c Museum Hotel, restaurants, coffee, shops, and the Walmart Museum area concentrate within a few blocks. This is the easiest zone for a car-free evening.
South: Walk or ride along the A Street corridor toward Ledger, the Momentary, and 8th Street Market. Check event calendars and individual business hours before expecting a full late-night district.
Square-to-Momentary walk
Walk the square before dinner, then continue south for contemporary art
Crystal Bridges lies north of the square, while the Momentary sits south in a former industrial building. Downtown lodging makes the restaurant cluster walkable; A Street and nearby trail connections help link the two art districts without turning every stop into a separate regional drive.
